2010 Events

Sat 24 July: 'History,Memory, Truth'
ISAA Seminar in conjunction with the NSW State Library
Venue: Metcalf Auditorium, State Library of NSW, Macquarie St Sydney
Time: 1:30 - 5:00 pm Register at 1:00 pm
History is commonly understood as a true record. While the notion implies certitude, it is clear that history is not indisputable. Throwing the important but often unreliable and contestable ingredient of memory into the mix can be further confusing. Michael McKernan, Alan Ramsay, Elizabeth Fletcher, Tony Kevin and Jacqueline Kent will tease out ways in which we have constructed history.
Cost: $20 (Friends, Concessions, ISAA members) or $25 (others)
Bookings: Phone 9273 1770 or online at www.sl.nsw.gov.au/events/bookings
