NCIS, UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2020

October 2, 2020
Share : ‑Twitter ‑LinkedIn ‑Reddit ‑Tumblr ‑Pinterest ‑Facebook
Our ever-growing membership now includes scholars in 25 countries across 5 continents. We are increasing our Grants program (www.ncis.org/grants); our open access peer-reviewed journal The Independent Scholar is in its sixth year, with Volume 7 now in preparation; and we have recently set up new Partner Groups in the UK and in France. Following the success of our recent conference at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in June 2019, we are now planning a conference to be held at a British university in 2022.

We are also instigating digital resources such as online discipline-based groups and virtual seminars, and have extended our grant awards program to support our members’ academic activities.

All in all, NCIS is supporting more independent scholars than ever before!

May I remind you that, as a member, you may proudly list NCIS among your Professional Association Memberships on your CV. Your NCIS Member Logo is available to download from the Members Only area of the website http://ncis.org/members-only/member-logo-and-use-policy for you to use on your FB and LinkedIn pages, on your personal website, and in your correspondence.

If you haven’t already done so, you are welcome to join our social networking groups on Academia, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Do also check out H-Scholar [1], an open listserv of interest to independent scholars.

We are continually evaluating and expanding our member benefits www.ncis.org/benefits. The Professional Writing & Translation Services http://www.ncis.org/professional-writing-and-translation-services are growing, with ever more specialists offering discounted or free services to NCIS members. Please let us know if you are an editing professional or translator and would like to be featured.

As a membership-based organization, we rely on our volunteers to make our benefits possible and to realize our mission. Please let us know if you can volunteer some time to help make this possible.
As always, we welcome news of your activities and we are eager to have our members’ books reviewed. We look forward to working with you in the near future and for years to come. Never hesitate to contact me, your officers and board, or your fellow members.
